What is Overlock Sewing Friend?
Overlock Sewing Friend is an intensive overlock sewing course for people who already sew and want to add professional finishes to their garments.
A specialised overlock machine is used to:
- finish seam edges neatly and securely,
- sew stretchy knit fabrics with flexible seams,
- create baby lock / rolled hems on light, delicate fabrics.
During the course you will learn how to confidently use an overlocker and how to get the most out of its stitches and settings. Together we will sew a stretchy T-shirt so that you can practise:
- joining pieces on an overlocker,
- finishing seam allowances,
- hemming with a professional-looking finish.
Who is this course for?
This course is not for complete beginners. It is designed for students who:
- already sew on a regular sewing machine, and
- have at least intermediate sewing skills.
If you can sew simple garments on your own and want to upgrade the final finish of your projects – this is the perfect next step.
Course format
- Location: our sewing studio in Kilcock
- Day: selected Saturdays (see available dates above)
- Time: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Duration: 6 hours of class time, including a 30-minute lunch break
All fabrics, threads and overlock machines are provided in the studio – you don’t need to bring your own machine. Just come ready to sew and learn.
