Saturday Dressmaking School – 24-Hour Weekend Sewing Course

Who is this dressmaking course for?
- Complete beginners who have never used a sewing machine before.

Course Details & Logistics
- Duration: 24 hours of instruction in total, spread over a 4-month period.
- Schedule: 4 sessions on selected Saturdays. Each meeting lasts 6 hours (from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including a 30-minute break).
- Location: Our professional sewing studio in Kilcock.
- Group Size: Small, intimate groups of maximum 6 people.
- Price: €390 for the entire 24-hour course.
What will you learn?
In this comprehensive dressmaking course, we will teach you how to:
- Use a sewing machine proficiently and utilize additional accessories that make sewing easier and more efficient.
- Operate other specialized machines (overlocker, babylocker, blind stitch).
- Recognize different types of fabrics and select the perfect material for your project.
- Avoid common sewing problems and troubleshoot machine issues if they arise.
- Master essential techniques: hand sewing, taking body measurements, fitting clothes, inserting zippers, and creating details (collars, cuffs, fasteners).
Your Sewing Projects
Throughout the course, you will create a total of 3 projects to put your new skills to the test:
- Two small projects: Designed to help you perfect various sewing techniques.
- One main project: A simple garment of your choice, tailored to your measurements. You can choose to sew a blouse, skirt, trousers, or dress.
Materials & Equipment
We provide all necessary materials, fabrics, and tools. We also supply sewing machines, but you are more than welcome to bring your own home sewing machine so we can show you how to use it to its full potential.
